A typical rendering of the Buddhabrot fractal
A rendering of the Buddhabrot Fractal using a non-standard power of 4.0. Three-way symmetry can be seen as a result.
A rendering of the Buddhabrot Fractal using a non-standard power of -4.0 (minus four). This is a zoom in on one of 5 symmetrical points on the star that is formed when a negative power is used.

The Buddhabrot is an alternate method for the rendering of the traditional Mandelbrot fractal formula, where the orbits are traced and their positions drawn directly, rather than coloring based on some other outcome of the orbit.
