The Poales...

Family Poaceae[edit]

According to the New York Flora Atlas, the New York population of Poaceae (the true gasses) contains 111 genera and 381 taxa.

Subfamily Panicoideae[edit]

The Panicoideae membership used here is based on Zuloaga, Fernando O.; Morrone, Osvaldo; Davidse, Gerrit; and Pennington, Susan J. (2007) "Classification and Biogeography of Panicoideae (Poaceae) in the New World," Aliso: A Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany: Vol. 23: Iss. 1, Article 39. 1. NYFA lists the former Panicum rigidulum as Coleataenia longifolia ssp. rigidula, but LeBlond (2011) in Journal of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas 5(2): 448 sees evidence to place it in its own species Coleataenia rigidula ssp. rigidula. (ITIS and GRIN agree with the NYFA)
