Summary
DescriptionSoda-can-example.jpg
English: This scene follows the advice of en:Blender 3D: Noob to Pro/Modeling Realistically, which suggests modeling with multiple parts that have been measured carefully, just like they were constructed.
The cans consist of four aluminum parts:
pull-tab
rivet
press-shaped cap
concave-bottomed cylinder
This simplified the UV-layout work on the can too, since only one part needed any UV coordinates.
The floor consists of many identical copies of the same board, rotated randomly for variation.
The glass is one mesh, with an inside and an outside surface. This helps the raytracer give realistic curvature effects near the lip of the glass.
In case this is not legally possible: Halley grants anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law.
