Summary

Description
English: Acquisition and tracking waveform in a CDR with a 2-2 PLL. The PFD is of bang-bang type, with transition reconfirmation. An initial short interval of free-running is followed by the appearance of the incoming signal. The frequency acquisition follows. Then phase lock is almost immediately reached. Then a sinusoidal input jitter is added to the input. Jitter frequency and amplitude are chosen to bring the PLL close to its tolerance limit.
