[edit] Introduction
Some enterprises own machinery that must be serviced to ensure maximum life and uptime. Preventive Maintenance collects the hours that machines have been operated and schedules service. Contrast this with Service Management. Not every ERP package has a Preventative Maintenance module although all the large ones do.

The first table is the Unit table which contains one record for every machine requiring preventative maintenance and the second table is the Maintenance table which contains one record for every maintenance performed. There is at least one maintenance record for every unit and there can be many.

Preventative Maintenance does not send or receive transactions to/from other modules.
