When my dad makes Bhindi (an indian dish), it is, as you say, slimy. It is also delicious. I think that the paragraph on "Slime" is too western a perspective (for an oriental/african food) and should probably be redone.
- looks like some anon put in the slime thing and it was toned down by a bunch of people. I'm going to change it.

How is okra "less commonly" known as "gumbo"? Last I checked, that's how it's known to quite a large number of people in Louisiana, the Carribean, and Africa. Do we not count? :) Alainna 06:11, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
