Cookbook talk:Frappé Coffee

I can't seem to get the coffee/sugar/mixture to get foamy. There are a few bubble on the surface, but no foam. I tried adding milk and ice in the initial mixture, but still no foam. I only stirred for about 30 seconds (after 5 it stayed the same consistency), should I stir longer? Also, the instant coffee I'm using (Nestle Nescafe; I like the bitter taste) isn't dissolving. I'm not sure why, but if anyone else had this problem let me know.--71.158.221.90 03:37, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
I think you have to use spray dried coffee. I just tried with freeze dried coffee and i got the results you talked about. Jonas
[edit] Horrible Foam
I have made this multiple times since finding this recipe, and every time I make it, the foam tastes very gross. It's like VERY strong, bitter coffee and splenda (even though I use cane sugar and medium coffee), and it stings as it goes down because of the awful taste. Is this normal, am I not supposed to drink the foam? Sometimes it even goes into the liquid and makes the whole thing a waste. It's like the gall bladder on a fish.--69.155.45.235 (talk) 01:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
