Meatballs[edit]

  • 3/4 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 lbs veal
  • 1/4 lbs pork
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup ginger
  • pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup "half & half"
  • 1/4 cup parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp MSG (optional)

Gravy[edit]

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 3/4 cup half & half
  • 1 tsp instant coffee
  • 1/2 tsp concentrated meat extract (optinal)
  • dash MSG (optional)

Procedure[edit]

  1. Grind meat together.
  2. Soak bread 5 min in milk.
  3. Cook onion in butter till tender.
  4. Combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, 1 cup "half & half", parsley and seasonings.
  5. Make meatballs (1 inch in diameter) and brown in butter (add more butter if needed)
  6. After browning meatballs, stir flour into drippings, add half & half, butter, coffee, meat extract, MSG.
  7. Heat and stir until thickened.
  8. Either add meatball and gravy to a croc pot and simmer until ready to eat, or add meatballs to sauce in pan and simmer for 10 minutes.
