• 1 graham cracker (full size, or 2 halves)
• 1 4-ounce chocolate bar
• 2 marshmallows

1. On a sunny day, park car in direct sunlight. A parking lot is especially good.
2. In a jiffy, the temperature inside the car will be as high as 140°F or 60°C.
3. Place a graham cracker on a plate on the dashboard, put the chocolate bar on top of the graham cracker, then a marshmallow in the center of each side.
4. Bake in hot car for 10-15 minutes, watching carefully for doneness.
5. Now think what is happening when you leave your dog, or worse, your child in the car!

• I put the digital remote thermometer on the shelf above the instrument panel at lunchtime in my vehicle on this sunny Carolina August day. With an outside temperature of 92°F, in 10 minutes it was 105°, in 20 minutes, 130°, finally hovering between 135° and 139°F after 25 minutes.
