For lazy people who would rather eat chemicals than food from scratch;
4 Cups slice fresh strawberries
1/2 Cup sugar +
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 Cups original Bisquick Mix
2/3 Cups milk
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1 Container Cool Whip
Chop and mix strawberries and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.
Cut them into small pieces then flatten them using the bottom of a glass. It turns them more into a strawberry sauce.
Heat oven to 425.
Stir Bisquick mix, milk, 3 tablespoons sugar and the butter until soft dough forms.
Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 min or until golden brown.
Split warm shortcakes in half; top with strawberries and cool whip.
Makes 6-8 shortcakes
