Nastar, or tananas, are pineapple jam filled cookies. These are popular treats for Eid ul-Fitr and Christmas celebrations in Indonesia.

- 0.5 kg margarine
- 0.5 kg all-purpose flour
- 6 egg yolks
- 2 egg yolks, for painting the top of the cookies
- 1 ounce sugar
- 5 gr vanilla powder
- 1 ounce Gouda cheese grated, or Cheddar as substitute
- 0.5 ounce raisin for garnish

- 2 pineapples
- 300 gr sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick

- Peel pineapple, wash and make pineapple purée
- Put pineapple purée in a pan, add sugar and cinnamon, cook while mixing in medium fire until set
- If the jam still tastes sour, add more sugar to taste
- Let it cool, pineapple jam has to be thick enough to roll into small marbles

- Batter 6 egg yolks with margarine and sugar
- Add grated cheese to mix
- Add flour and vanilla little by little to make dough

- Roll the dough smaller than golf ball, fill with pineapple jam
- Cut raisin into two, put it on top
- Paint the cookie with egg yolk
- Use cookie sheet, bake in oven (30 minutes) until golden yellow.
