Lunch is a meal served near noon or in the early afternoon. Lunch is not served in traditional farming communities that serve supper. Lunch comes between breakfast and dinner. Lunch is not a large meal, and is not usually a hot meal. One particularly characteristic lunch food is the sandwich.
