Kebab (Turkish: kebap) means "grilled meat", originally from Persia. There are two types of kebab:
- Döner kebab is a type of kebab, preparation method and associated dishes brought by Turkish immigrants into Berlin. Made from lamb (or beef in some areas) and sliced into thin slices and often served with pita and salad. Nowadays popular in Australia and many European countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Finland, and Scandinavia.
- Shish kebab is an older variation, was eaten as long ago as in ancient Persia, is kebab (mostly fish and livestock meat) prepared on sticks (skewers). Popular and the most consumed fast-food in Iran.
