Procedure[edit]

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs until foamy; gradually add sugar.
  2. Blend in oil and vanilla.
  3. Combine flour, salt and baking soda; add to egg mixture.
  4. Pour into a greased 10-in. tube pan; bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the cake tests done.
  5. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cake to a serving platter.

Topping[edit]

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan; boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Slowly pour over warm cake (some topping will run down onto the serving plate.)
