- 1/2 cup of raw/blanched almonds
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
- 2 cups of water

- Place almonds in blender and grind to fine powder
- Add syrup/extract and 1 cup of water
- Blend 1-2 minutes until smooth
- Place strainer over large bowl.
- Line with cheesecloth or fine sieve if a thinner consistency is desired.
- Pour almond milk slowly into strainer and let filter through.
- When all milk has passed through strainer, press remaining milk out of accumulated almond fiber.
- Chill for several hours
