A form of energy release from hydrocarbon fuels using limestone to contain the gases and residue of the process. It has been used experimentally with coal with positive results. Should it work with natural gas or methane it may provide a way to contain the carbon from thawing methane ice that is likely to result if global warming continues. This at least keeps it out of the atmosphere.
