Caro-Kann Defence:Classical Variation

Still the main line. White prepares for queenside castling. Since we have played h2-h4-h5 before, it makes sense to launch a pawn storm on the kingside.

Black should continue with his development with moves like 11...Ngf6 or 11...Be7. After that, kingside castling is the only option. This leads to an intense battle later, while both side try to push their pawns to the enemy king's territory. To avoid this, Black can try to castle on queenside with 11...Qc7 to control the b8-h2 diagonal, follow with 12...O-O-O.
