Intermediate books are intended for readers at an average adult reading level. The volume of text should exceed the volume of images. Sentence structure can be more diverse. More difficult vocabulary can be used without requiring explanation. Subject matter can become technical, but use of extensive amounts of technical jargon should be avoided. These books should be accessible to readers without any particular expertise in the subject area.
