- burden of leading evidence

- character evidence
- evidence that establishes a witnesses standing in the community, reputation, and history of past actions.
- circumstantial evidence
- evidence that proves a fact, though not directly at issue, is sufficient that it may infer, from the circumstances, the existance of a fact that is at issue.
- direct evidence
- evidence that proves a fact at issue. a first-hand account of an incident. (cf. circumstantial and heresay evidence.)
