One of the most important features of blogs is currency. A blog which is out of date can rapidly become useless. However, it is important to note that a blog should only be updates when there is something useful to be added: updating just for the sake of it, when there is nothing new to be added, can simply be annoying to readers.
A blog can be regarded as an effective information tool when it succeeds in reaching the target audience and communicating the desired information.
