Tanzania Top Bar Hives are a style of top bar hive, which design is likely to of originated from Tanzania. The Tanzania Top Bar Hive differentiates its self from the other common design of top bar hive, the Kenya Top Bar Hive, because it has non-sloped side.

Some beekeepers whom use Top Bar Hives, claim that they see no real difference in the functionality of the angle of the side walls of the hive. All that is important is that the opening of the top bar hive in relation to the trough is not convex.
