[edit] Introduction

Punjab (Punjabi: پنجاب) is one of the four provinces of Pakistan. Commonly dubbed as the "heartland" of the country, history has shown Punjab to be Pakistan's most populous, rich and prosporous region from the start. With an agriculture-based economy and a geographical landscape made from a compilation of farms, villages and rural countryside, the Punjab is much a resemblance of its neighbouring Indian Punjab. It is the native homeland of Pakistan's majority Punjabi population, which as a matter of fact, is also the largest population of Punjabis anywhere in the world.

With a fascinating past, vibrant culture and evergreen atmosphere, Punjab is a place that attracts all those interested. An Introduction to Punjab (Pakistan) aims to provide the best information on Punjab and hopes to appeal to curious readers.
